Abstract

512,312. Electric switchboards. HOLLANDER, J. M. March 25, 1939, No. 9369. [Class 38 (v)] In a distribution system three bus-bars 1 are enclosed in a casing 2 secured along a wall and provided at intervals with openings on each of which may be secured a frame 4 carrying a hinged door 7 fastened at 9. External conductors from a consuming device enter a duct 10 on the door and are connected through terminals 18 and fuses 15 to contacts 19 all mounted on an insulating plate 14 carried by the door 7. When the door is closed, the contacts 19 pass through apertures 21 in an insulating shield 20 and engage clip contacts 22 on the bus-bars to effect connection of the external conductors to the supply. When the door is open the circuit is broken and the fuses are isolated for inspection or replacement. Any of the apertures in the casing which are not in use are provided with a screwed cover plate.
