Abstract
809,122. Thermally-actuated valves. SPERRYN & CO. Ltd. Nov. 25, 1955 [Aug. 25, 1954], No. 24690/54. Class 135. In a thermostatically-controlled valve for the oven of a gas cooker having a rod and tube thermostat and in which a setting head 9, Fig. 1, mounted on a spindle 8 coupled to the valve member initially sets the valve member relative to its seat, a fitting 11 having an opening 23, Fig. 5, passing freely over the spindle and a knife-edged projection 13 is slid laterally of the spindle so that the knife-edge engages a serration on a serrated-edged disc 16 secured to the spindle. A nut 22 having a conical spigot 24 passing into the opening then clamps the fitting to the disc. A depending arm 12 on the fitting engages a stop 14 on the valve body to limit the range of movement of the head.
