Abstract

The ventilator has a flared opening (5) leading by a short extension piece (1) and an elbow (2) into the air conditioning duct, a screen (520) being positioned over the opening. A threaded spindle (3) fits centrally in the extension piece, being fixed at the top (21) and projecting into the flared opening. The valve, a disc (4) on an internally threaded sleeve (41), screws over this spindle and is adjusted, between the limits of the extension piece, to give the required flow rate. A scale is marked on the spindle nose (34) to give a direct reading of this rate and spring loading (31, 32) between spindle and sleeve prevents accidental movement.
