Abstract
697,664. Thermally-actuated valves. PARKINSON STOVE CO., Ltd. Oct. 4, 1951 [Oct. 7, 1950], No. 24539/50. Class 135 In a thermostatically-controlled valve, e.g. for ovens, having a valve member 17 adjustable to its seating 16 by rotation of an abutment piece 19 extending through the member and engaging a rod and tube thermal element 14 at one end and having a tongue and slot connection 20 with an angularly adjustable spindle 21 in a detachable cover 23 at the other end, the valve member is a flat disc freely supported on an axial boss of a guiding spider 18 through which the abutment piece screws, the spider being anchored in the cover, with axial but no angular movement, by a pin 34 engaging a slot 33 in one of the spider arms. The disc is anchored to a light spring 27 pressing it against the spider while the spider has a spring 25 loading it on to the seat. By reversing the disc, either face may form the seating surface.
