Class 29 In a heat pump, the evaporator 1 is housed in a casing 2 scured or adapted to be secured to the outside wall of a building containing the heat pump and having vents 8a, 8b for the passage through the casing of a fluid, e.g. air from the cavities 12 in the walls of the building, comprising the heat source of the pump. The air may be drawn through ventilating apertures 13 directly from a room of the building, preferably the kitchen. The wall 5 of the casing may be of glass, and the evaporator coils blackened to absorb radiant heat. A drain 9 is provided for condensed moisture and the casing may include a fan.
