Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow air-conditioning of the house interior without impairing the appearance and function of the bay window by housing the refrigerating mechanisms in their housing chambers on both upper and lower sides of the bay window do designed that it can be secured to the house wall from the outside of the house. CONSTITUTION:The bay window body 1 having the upper and lower housing chambers 6, 7 is secured to the house wall 2. A utilization side heat exchanger 26 and an interior air circulating fac 28 are housed in the chamber 6 and air conditioning of the house interior is performed by means of grills 10, 11. The chamber 7 has in its external wall an outer air sucking and discharging grill 24 and houses a compressor 31, a heat source side exchanger 32 and an outer air sucking and discharging fan 34. The upper and lower chambers are communicated by the high- pressure and low-pressure coolant pipes and drain pipes in a heat-insulating hose in a concealed passage 13 formed in a bay strut. Both upper and lower chambers can be opened and closed from the outside by way of the doors 21, 22 to facilitate mounting and demounting of the air conditioner mechanisms as well as insepction thereof.
