806,281. Grass-cutting machines. S. I. ENGINEERING CO. Ltd., and GUNTER, C. H. June 4, 1956 [June 2, 1955], No. 34999/54. Class 6(3). [Also in Groups X and XXIII] In a manually-guided power-driven grasscutting machine, of the type having a cutter 9 normally rotatable about a vertical axis, the cutter is carried by a mounting 7 angularly adjustable in a socket 8 extending longitudinally of the machine chassis. The chassis 1 carries the engine 2 which drives a pulley 5 secured to the cutter spindle 6 through a belt 7. Landwheels 13 which are not driven, are mounted on an axle 12. The mounting 7 includes a tube (not shown) fitting within the tubular socket 8 and being secured therein by a bolt 17 extending through aligned holes in the tube and socket. Several series of such holes are spaced circumferentially of the two members and the holes in one member may be elongated to permit relative longitudinal adjustment for tensioning the belt 4.
