Abstract

761,610. Hay-harvesters. PULLMAN SPRING-FILLED CO., Ltd. June 29, 1955 [July 5, 1954], No. 19664/54. Class 6(3). Relates to a hay-harvester of the type described in Specification 731,291 and comprising a pair of disc-cutters 8, 9 rotating about vertical axes adjacent to the mouth of a suction conduit 3. The invention comprises an attachment for such a machine consisting of a further disccutter 29 rotatable on an axis parallel to those of the discs 8, 9, and carried by a frame 16 readily attachable to the harvester frame 2 at a position laterally offset from the existing cutters. The frame 16 comprises outwardly-convergent channel members terminating in a vertical V- block 20 against which the sleeve carrying the cutter-spindle may be held by a U-bolt 23. The cutter is driven by a belt 28 from one of the existing belt-pulleys 6. An extension-guard 32 is attached to the existing cutter-guard 31 to surround the cutter 29.
