Abstract

806,072. Rotary compressors. KNORRBREMSE G.m.b.H. July 2, 1956 [July 2, 1955, (2)], No. 20461/56. Class 110 (2). In a rotary air compressor of the outwardlysliding radial-vane type comprising an inner casing 1, which is provided with cooling ribs and surrounded by an outer casing 18 to define therewith a plurality of cooling passages, the cooling air is fed through said passages by a fan 9 mounted on the shaft 6 of the pump and is discharged through an outlet 19. Some of the cooling ribs are thickened to accommodate the tie-rods 21 and the rotor is sealed by a sliding-contact ring 24 which is pressed thereagainst by a rubber ring carrier 25.
