Abstract
805,713. Regulating. MOORWOOD, A. G., and MOORWOOD, S. Aug. 16, 1956, No. 25090/56. Addition to 771,649. Class 7(6) The fuel economizing device of the parent Specification, comprising a disc valve 2 carried by a plate 4 positioned between the induction manifold branch 3 and cylinder inlet 1 and operable by means independent of the carburetter throttle valve operating means to close the inlet or permit a predetermined minimum flow of fuel-air mixture at idling, is modified by the addition of means 6 preventing the valve 2 from being sucked into the cylinder if it breaks loose. The means 6 comprises a cage formed by two semicircular members attached to the plate 4. The valve spindle 5 is cranked at 5c for connection to the operating member and is supported by a bracket 11 fixed in position by one of the fixing bolts 12 of the plate 4. A spring- loaded sealing member 10 slidable on the spindle 5 seals the outer end of the bore in the plate 4 through which the spindle 5 passes.
