Abstract
805,685. Adjustable cores for electric motors. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. Aug. 8, 1956 [Aug. 8, 1955], No. 24311/56. Class 35. A two-pole rotary electric motor includes a stator magnetic core having a portion on which is mounted an energizing winding 7 and two end portions which form pole shoes 5, 6 between which a rotor 3 is located, and the core is divided into two separate abutting halves 1 each having one pole shoe, the division being in a plane 8 substantially parallel to the pole shoe axis 9 and the halves being mutually displaceable with their abutting ends in contact along the plane 8 to vary the lengths of the air gaps between the shoes and the rotor. The rotor 3 includes a permanent magnet whose poles are indicated by the segments defined by lines 4. The Specification indicates that the winding 7 may be fed with field direction changing current pulses.
