804,955. Ball joints. THOMPSON PRODUCTS, Inc. March 27, 1956 [May 31, 1955], No. 9572/56. Class 65(2) In a joint having a socket 10 and a ball headed stud 15 spring urged together a thin plastics low - friction liner 20 positioned between the socket and the ball head has an extended lip 22 projecting through the smaller opening 12b of the socket to make a sealing contact with an annular disc 24 positioned around the stud. The disc may be a segment of a sphere and is urged into contact with the lip by the resilient means 25. Sealing of the joint is completed by the closure plate 29.
