[Also in Group XXI] A conveyer for removing gummings from a kerf consists of a cranked jib formed by two U-section bars 11, 13, embracing and secured to a bar 12 having a groove running around the sides thereof for guiding the links of an endlesschain carrying at spaced intervals paddles 18. The return run of the conveyer is shrouded by a ridge-shaped spill plate 29. The conveyer is secured to the gear head 28 of a mineralmining machine from which it is driven.
