Class 7(6) An accelerator pedal 1 is connected with the fuel control rod 3 and with the throttle valve 12, the connection to the rod 3 being a positive connector whilst a spring 6 is interposed in the otherwise positive connection to the valve 12, to which valve is also connected a dashpot device 8. As shown, the dashpot 8 is connected between the throttle valve lever 11 and the spring 6 and on acceleration and deceleration causes the movement of the throttle valve to lag behind that of the fuel control rod. The dashpot may produce a smaller lag during deceleration than during aceleration or may be ineffective during deceleration and may be connected to the lever 11 separately from the connection to the accelerator pedal.
