Abstract

1283647 Regulating I C engine fuel supply DAIMLER BENZ A G 7 Aug 1970 [9 Aug 1969] 38185/70 Heading F1B An electromagnetically-actuated valve 12 which interrupts the fuel supply to the injection pump 11 on engine over-running is controlled by a pair of switches 22 and 23 responsive to accelerator pedal position and vehicle speed, respectively. The electromagnet of the valve 12 may be energized to interrupt fuel flow, in which case the switch 22 is opened when the accelerator pedal is depressed and the switch 23 is opened below a predetermined vehicle speed, e.g. 10 km/h. Alternatively, the fuel-flow may be interrupted with the electromagnet de-energized in which case the switch 22 is closed when the pedal is depressed and the switch 23 is closed below the predetermined speed. In the latter case the valve 12 is closed when the ignition switch 19 is not operated.
