Abstract

[Also in Division F1] In a fuel injection pump on a vehicle I.C. engine, a valve (61) controlling the fuel supply to the injection pump (see Division F1) is controlled by the gear selector of the engine transmission to limit the supply of fuel to the engine and thereby the engine speed when the high gear ratio is selected, solenoid switch 49 in the selector gate 48 being engaged by the selector lever 47. In a vehicle having a multi-ratio axle selection of a high axle gear may control the pump valve.
