Class 89(1) A self-locking-nut, screw &c. comprises a recess housing an elastic locking-insert which projects to engage the threads of a complementary-member, the insert being of either polytrifluorochloroethylene or polytetrafluoroethylene. The in s e r t - material may include a filler, e.g. flocculated-asbestos or glass-fibre, and may be housed in a counter-bore at the non-working end of a nut.
