858,088. Screw-heads. DE LACY, J. H. Sept. 24, 1959, No. 32513/59. Class 89(2). A rotatable-fastener, e.g. a screw 10, Fig. 4, has a cylindrical hole 17 in one end to receive an insert 13 having a non-circular tool-engaging- recess 18, Fig. 1, and gripping-means, e.g. serrations 16, to engage the wall of the hole and hold the insert therein. The insert may have a pilot-portion 14, and is pressed-home to cause the serrations to bite into the wall. Where the fastener has no head, or only a thin-head, the hole extends into the fastener-shank.
