803,384. Ceilings. GEMA A. G. APPARATEBAU UND STANZEREI, June 12, 1956 [[June 13, 1955, July 15, 1955, Aug. 30, 1955], No. 18133/56. Class 20(4) [Also in Group XIII] A ceiling comprises sheet metal plates 7 having upturned margins 6 which are provided with lateral flanges 11 that rest upon beams 5. The beams are secured to bolts 3 that are anchored in the supporting ceiling structure 1 or in channel-members anchored in or secured beneath the structure 1. The ceiling may be adapted for radiant heating by hot water pipes 8 resting on the beams, and sound-insulating material may be provided in the plates. Several forms of marginal flanges and beams are described; in Fig. 1 for example, the plate flanges rest on flanges 5a on the beams; in Fig. 2 the plate flanges pass through slots 10 in the legs of the beams; and in Fig. 4 the plate flanges snap over outwardly bent portions 12 of the beam legs. Other flange arrangements are described.
