Abstract
803,208. Knitting. TEXTILE MACHINE WORKS. July 16, 1956 [July 14, 1955], No. 21956/56. Class 74 (2). Each fashioning comb of a straight-bar machine has two or more half points or filling- in points 53 capable of being moved from an inoperative to an operative position to cooperate with the transfer points 32 of the comb so that during widening the loops engaged by these half points at the inner edge of the selvage loops are spread over two or more needles, as shown in Fig. 1. The half points are secured in fingers 90 slidable in a slot in the comb and the fingers are lowered or raised manually to bring the points into or to take them out of operation.
