Abstract

802,852. Electric heaters for cathodes. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Dec. 10, 1956 [Dec. 13, 1955], No. 37637/56. Class 39(3) [Also in Group XL(a)] A bifilarly wound heater filament 1 has within it an electro-phoretically produced insulating tube 2a and is covered electrophoretically with an insulating coating 4 terminating in a conical or pear-shaped knob 3a. This knob enters partially into the cathode sleeve, thus seating the heater firmly therein. The tube 2a may be made by coating a molybdenum wire 2b with the insulating material (preferably pure aluminium oxide) and dissolving out the wire.
