Abstract

802,227. Endless conveyers. ETABLISSEMENTS MATENIN. April 24, 1957 [June 13, 1956], No. 13120/57. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XXI] In a trench-digging machine the buckets of the endless chain digging unit discharge on to a conveyer system extending transversely of the excavator beyond the trench being excavated. The conveyer system 10 has two aligned endless conveyer belts 11, 12 mounted by drive rollers 15 and idler rollers in a common frame 13. Each roller 15 is driven by an independent reversible hydraulic motor so that the belts 11, 12 can both discharge to the right and left of the machine or in opposite directions to each other. The vertical position of the frame and the angle it makes with the horizontal is controlled by groups of double acting, independently operable jacks 19 pivotally connected between the frame 13 and a fixed portion 21 of the excavator. The piston rods of the jacks to one side of the frame are guided in lugs secured to the fixed portion 21. Specification 786,829, [Group XXI], is referred to.
