Abstract

[Also in Division E1] The frame 25 of the endless belt discharge conveyer of an excavating machine can be moved on a support 33 in the machine transversely of the direction of advance of the machine to discharge as desired to one side or the other of the machine by a chain 44, secured resiliently at either end to the frame and coacting with a driven sprocket 43 from a rotary, fluid-powered motor 38 mounted on the support. The conveyer belt 28 is driven by a motor on the frame, which has a pair of spaced, generally arcuate rails resting on rollers 32 in the support and constrained to the required transverse movement by the flanges thereof being embraced by flanges on the support.
