Abstract

801,465. Protecting conductors from electrostatic effects; electrostatic screens for couplings; fixed connections between conductors. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Electrical conductors are protected against electrostatic effects by a removable U-shaped smooth-surfaced clip arranged to embrace a conductor or junction of two or more conductors where there is any projection or surface irregularity. The clip may be of conducting material, which may have an insulating covering, or may be entirely of insulating material and may be resilient so that it fits over the conductor with a snap action. At a T-junction of busbars 1, 2 held together by bolts 5, a U-shaped phenol formaldehyde moulding 6, provided with slots 7 to accommodate the ends of the bolts, is applied. The inner surfaces of the member 6 are metallized.
