Class 82(2) A jig for concentrating ores comprises a tank d with a concentrate-discharge h in its conical bottom part, and a slightly raised partition p which divides its upper part into an annular compartment b for a fixed sieve and a central compartment a for a sieve which is vertically reciprocated by means of a water-supplying pipe c carrying a small baffle plate k. The movable sieve may be slightly conical and its bed is preferably of larger grain-size and higher specific gravity than that of the fixed sieve. The ore is fed in by a cone e and light components overflow into a launder f.
