In an air turbine for use as an auxiliary source . of power in an aircraft having a gas turbine installation, the air turbine is provided with twotier inlet nozzle guide vanes f, g and with twotier rotor blades b, c and air under pressure tapped from the compressor of the gas turbine installation flows through the outer portions g, c of the turbine guide vanes and rotor blades while ram air flows through the inner portions f, b. The air under pressure is led through a duct l controlled by a valve m, while the ram air is led through a duct from an intake in the aircraft fuselage n controlled by a valve device p.
