639,211. Gas turbine plant. AKT.-GES. FUR TECHNISCHE STUDIEN. May 20, 1947, No. 13532. Convention date, June 8, 1946. Drawings to Specification. [Class 110(iii)] A plant comprising at least one compressor turbine and at least one useful power turbine, the compressor and useful power turbines running at mechanically independent speeds and being arranged in series or parallel as regards the supply of working fluid, is characterized in that the ratio of the angles made by the vectors representing relative inlet velocity and absolute outlet velocity of the working fluid in the majority of the rotor stages of either the compressor turbine or the useful power turbine is fixed so that when the speed of the chosen turbine increases the compressor turbine takes a smaller proportion of the total energy produced, and when there is a reduction of speed of the chosen turbine the compressor turbine takes a larger proportion of the total energy produced.
