800,513. Envelopes. DARTON MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. Sept. 18, 1956 [Oct. 3, 1955], No. 28055/55. Class 146(2) [Also in Group XVII] An envelope or bag comprises a sheet of paper, card, or plastic folded over on itself and secured along its side edges, with an inside lining of polythene or other heat sealable plastic sheet material sealed thereto at its edges at the open end, (the width of the lining being no greater than the width between the places where the sides of the bag are secured together.) The folded lining 3 on a metal plate 4 may be inserted in the envelope, as in Fig. 2, and sealed continuously or discontinuously at the edges by heated platens applied externally of the envelope or by heating elements incorporated in the plate, the plate 4 then being withdrawn. Alternatively envelope and lining sheets 6, 8 may be joined at 9, 10, 11, folded at 11, and the envelopes completed by means of flaps 7.
