Abstract

799,464. Motor driving arrangements. DENFORD, G. H. Jan. 30, 1957 [Oct. 12. 1956], No. 31075/56. Class 35. Two electric motors 1 and 2 arranged on a common axis 3 and 4 with a pulley 5 or gearwheel carried between them are supported so as to be rotatably adjustable about their axis within the supporting means, which may comprise two rings 6 and 7 secured to the motor casings, spaced apart by distance pieces 8 and 9 and clamped by pairs of clamps 10 and 11 which may be drawn together by contra-handed screw-threaded bars 13 so that the shoulders 12 of the clamps engage behind the rings 6 and 7 to rigidly secure the assembly. One pair of clamps 10 has bosses 14 for securing the assembly to a machine frame 15. The motors may be rotated, within the supporting framework, through any desired angle by slackening the pairs of clamps. The motors may be mounted on a common shaft and may be supplied with current singly or together so that up to three different power outputs are available from the unit.
