Abstract

777,548. Magnetic separators. AKT.-GES. FUR UNTERNEHMUNGEN DER EISENUND STAHLINDUSTRIE. Sept. 26, 1955 [Sept. 27, 1954], No. 27356/55. Class 117 A magnetic separator comprises a drum 1 rotatable on a hollow shaft 9, a frame 5 pivotally mounted at 6 supporting one or more arch-shaped mounting strips 2 on which permanent magnets 3 are secured by clamping devices 4. An arm 8 to which the frame 5 is pivoted is fast with a sleeve 10 secured in the shaft 9 which is stationary and houses a manually rotatable shaft 14 carrying a worm 13. An adjusting shaft 11 rotatable in the shaft 9 and sleeve 10 is provided with a worm wheel 12 and an eccentric 15, the latter engaging surfaces 16 on the frame 5. Rotation of the shaft 14 causes the eccentric 5 to rotate and the frame to pivot at 6, the distance separating the magnets 3 from the inner surface of the drum thus being adjustable.
