Abstract
799,162. Stoppers. FLAIG & SONS, Ltd., W. G. April 24, 1956 [May 4, 1955], No. 12940/55. Class 125(3). [Also in Group XXVIII] A glass &c. tube 1 fitting in a tube 6 has a recess 4 at or near one end and a shoulder 2 spaced from the recess, resilient sealing sleeves 9, 10 being positioned between the tubes, one in the recess and the other adjacent the shoulder and both of the tubes having conical tapered ends, and the sealing sleeves being compressed when the tube 1 is inserted into the tube 6. The sealing sleeves are made of rubber, polythene or the like. In Fig. 3 (not shown), the sleeve in the recess is sheathed by a U-section corrosive-proof ring of material such as " Fluon " (Registered Trade Mark), and in Fig. 4 (not shown), the " Fluon " ring is in the form of a simple washer.
