Abstract

797,585. Moulding-machines. CONSTRUCTIONAL ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Sept- 13, 1954 [Sept. 18, 1953], No. 25797/53. Class 83 (1). [Also in Group XXX] A core-blowing machine comprises a cylindrical or conical sand container 7 into which air is admitted tangentially at the top and also at the bottom. The cylindrical or conical container is charged from a hopper 11 through a shutter 12. A core-box is placed on a table 15, adjusted vertically by a nut 17, and is clamped laterally by a cam lever controlling a plate 21a. The table 15 is raised by a lever 19 to clamp the container against the shutter 12 and the box against the container. Air is then admitted through orifices 27, 30 by a valve 33 to blow the sand through one or more apertures into the box. Lowering of the table causes a release of the pressure in the container. The table 15 and box-clamps may be operated by compressed-air. A baffle 35 prevents sand from running freely from the container when not under pressure. Specification 570,193 is referred to.
