Abstract
764,098. Moulding-machines. FISCHER AKT.-GES., G. Dec. 6, 1954 [Dec. 5, 1953; Aug. 12, 1954], No. 35318/54. Class 83 (1). A sandblast moulding-machine comprises a table 14 for supporting a corebox 13 and a sandhopper 11, a compressed-air supply in a standard 2 carried by the table, and control-mechanism 1 on the standard for moving a compressed-air supply-nozzle 7 to engage the hopper and to open a supply-valve 19. As the hand-lever 1 is rotated it moves a cam 16 to open a valve 17 to supply compressed air to a piston 211 to clamp the core-box halves 13. Alternatively, the piston 21<SP>1</SP> may be replaced by a flexible diaphragm or by electromagnetic means. In a modification, the hopper 36, Fig. 4, is secured to the nozzle head 33 by a bayonet joint 41, so that it is always centred with respect thereto. Alternatively, the hopper may be centred by springs or an electromagnet. The nozzle 7 may be moved by compressed air instead of mechanically andthe lever 1 may be actuated by compression or electrical means released manually or by a pedal.
