796,761. Cathode-ray tubes. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Jan. 17, 1955 [Jan. 29, 1954], No. 2700/54. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(1). After a fluorescent screen has been applied by settling to the face of the cathode-ray tube, the tube is loaded, still wet, onto the aluminizing apparatus and the drying operation is performed by rough evacuation so that the fine evacuation and aluminizing can be carried out without further break in the vacuum. A separate drying step is thus avoided. The vacuum pump must be capable of handling water vapour. Specification 796,762 is referred to.
