Abstract

789,846. Discharge apparatus. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Feb. 9, 1956 [Feb. 12, 1955], No. 4084/56. Class 39(1). The conductive wall coating in for example a cathode ray tube consists of a mixture of waterglass and graphite, the molecular ratio of alkaline oxide to silicon dioxide in the waterglass being between 1 : 5 and 1 : 7. The coating may also contain an organic swelling agent and is preferably applied by spraying the tube wall which is preheated to 50‹ to 80‹C.
