Abstract
796,337. Electromagnets. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. March 15, 1955 [April 16, 1954], No. 7540/55. Class 35. A lifting electromagnet comprises a magnetic frame 10 which is machined from a steel bar to provide an annular inner pole 31 and a wire terminal recess 12 at its top part, a magnetic top plate 28 having a central hole to allow insertion of part of the frame 10, a tubular outer pole member 33 having one end 34 welded to the plate 28, and a coil 29. The plate 28 has its inner circular part positioned in a cut-away portion 25 of the frame 10 to which it is secured by a continuous weld 38. The coil 29, which is located between the frame 10 and the member 33, has its surrounding space filled with impregnating compound 41. An annular metal shield 42 is provided in contact with the impregnating material 41 and positioned and caulked as at 43, 43a, as shown in Fig. 1. When the lifting magnet is used on a lift truck or a fork lift type truck, it is secured in place by means of the plate extensions 28a, 28b, 28c and 28d and studs 28e, 28f, 28g and 28h.
