Abstract

795,923. Cut-outs. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. July 1, 1955 [July 8, 1954], No. 20015/54. Class 38 (1). The element 7 of a fuse is arranged in the oil-filled chamber 2 of an oil-immersed insulating structure 1 having two intersecting passages 3, 4, the latter acting as a venting passage on blowing of the fuse. Element 7 is connected to fixed and movable conductors 6, 8 respectively, the latter being drawn in the direction of the arrow by a spring (not shown) when the fuse blows and this movement may be used to open an isolator. A gas pocket 11 is provided and cork plates 1a and steel end-plates 5 are secured to structure 1.
