Abstract

1,009,988. Electrically released switches. COMPAGNIE DE CONSTRUCTION ELECTRIQUE. July 30, 1962 [Aug. 30, 1961], No. 29153/62. Heading H2B. Moving contacts 1, 2, 3, carried by an insulating sheath 11 oscillating in bearings 13, 14, are opened rapidly by a flat torsion spring 8 when released by a disc-shaped latch 16 of a circuit breaker upon the occurrence of a short-circuit. In an embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown), two flat torsion springs are used, one being secured to each end of the insulating sheath or body which is rotated by the springs to open the contacts carried by the body.
