Abstract

929,460. Fuse bases. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Dec. 19, 1961 [Dec. 19, 1960], No. 43642/60. Class 38 (1). An electric fuse-base in which at least one of the contacts 3, 4 is dimensioned so that the fusebase can accommodate fuse-holders having differing spacing between contacts. A mask 14, which may be detachably secured to the fuse-base by means of the press stud 18, has apertures 14 through which the contacts of the fuse-holder pass and the size and spacing of these apertures is such as to permit the insertion of fuse-holders having contacts with one particular spacing only. The mask may have a shallow recess 16 to constitute an arcing well and an asbestos pad may be inserted therein.
