939,710. Arc-rupturing in switches. ETABLISSEMENTS MERLIN & GERIN S.A. June 29, 1961 [July 1, 1960], No. 23524/61. Class 38 (5). In an arc chute similar to that of Specification 702,834, alternate insulating plates 2 are notched at 23 and the conductive member 19 thereon is arranged at the upper end of the notch. The web portion 22 joining the two legs 20, 21 of the member is arranged in a recess formed by cut-outs 18 in the legs 15, 16 of conductive members 14 carried by plates 1. Thus, the minimum spacings 24, 25 between legs of the respective members ar located within the arc chute, and not at the entrance thereof.
