Abstract

933,498. Arc-rupturing in switches. ETABLISSEMENTS MERLIN & GERIN S.A. June 29, 1961 [July 1, 1960], No. 23526/61. Class 38 (5). In an arc chute similar to that of Specification 702,834, at least two insulating plates 2, 3 not carrying conductive members 11, but having triangular notches 17, are located between adjacent plates 1. The upper ends of the notches 17, 18 are continued as saw cuts 20 and are displaced relative to each other transversely of the longitudinal axis of the plates. A third notched plate having the upper end of its notch in the longitudinal axis, Fig. 4 (not shown), may be arranged between plates 2 and 3. The notches have chamfered edges. Specification 723,837 also is referred to.
