793,703. Woven fabrics. BROUGHTON, S. March 28, 1956 [Feb. 15, 1955], No. 4401/55. Class 142(4) [Also in Group XIV] A curtain pleating tape, with or without pockets for the curtain hooks, has a portion or portions containing or treated with a potentially adhesive material so that it can be secured to the curtain by heat and pressure. The adhesive material may be hard and non-tacky before application of the tape to the curtain, or may be tacky and protected by a layer of gauze or the like. Polyvinyl acetate, polythene or polymethyl methacrylate may be used as adhesive. The adhesive material may be applied only to the margins of the tape; it may be applied to or contained in marginal warp threads before weaving. Alternatively tapes having pockets for hooks may have the adhesive material extending across the width of the tape, non-adhesive areas being provided behind the pockets. The tape may be double or multi-ply, one ply being woven with pockets and another being impregnated or containing the adhesive material.
