Abstract

793,270. Slitting-apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK GOEBEL GES. Nov. 24, 1955, No. 33768/55. Class 31 (1). A rotary cutter coacting with a second rotary cutter for slitting webs of paper &c. comprises knives in the form of annular steel discs 5, Fig. 1, which are each slit radially at 24, Fig. 2, and mounted between hub-like annular members 4 which are subjected to axial pressure by means of a nut 3, spring or the like pressure member at one end of the shaft 1 and a fixed stop or other pressure member at the other end of the shaft. In a modification, Fig. 4, knives 11, similar to the knives 5, are mounted on shoulders 10 of hub-like annular members 9, the shoulders preferably being narrower than the knives. In another modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), intermediate rings are provided between the hub-like annular members. In further modifications, the bearing surfaces of the knives are slightly conical.
