Abstract

1,003,717. Folding paper. SCHNELLPRESSENFABRIK FRANKENTHAL ALBERT & CIE A,G. Aug. 9, 1962 [Aug. 12, 1961], No. 30490/62. Heading B6H. An accumulating folding and cutting cylinder, the effective diameter of which is adjustable, has three axially-spaced series of peripherally-extending strips 13 which can be moved radially outwards to enlarge the cylinder. Each series has four strips each mounted on a pair of pivoted links 5 carried by shafts 4, 4<SP>1</SP> extending longitudinally of the cylinder, the strips being urged outwardly by torsion springs (not shown) on the shafts. The shafts, at one end, extend through the end of the cylinder and carry levers 15 co-operating with cam surfaces on a cam ring 17, the rotational position of which relative to the cylinder can be adjusted by a screw-and-nut assembly 21, 20 to vary the amount by which the levers 15 are allowed to move, hence limiting the outward movement of the strips 13.
