[Class 136 (iii)] The pillar 4 carrying a cycle saddle 1 or similar seat is slidable in the seat tube 8 of the vehicle frame against the action of a spring 10 fitted around the pillar 4 between the lug 5 at the top of the tube 8 and a collar 11 movable along the pillar, the collar bearing against a pin 13 which can be inserted in one of a series of holes 12 in the pillar to vary the initial compression of the spring. To prevent rotation of the pillar and to limit its movement, slots 6 therein are engaged by a pin 7 fixed in the tube 8.
