Abstract

732,030. Check valves. SUN ENGINEERING (RICHMOND), Ltd. Sept. 9, 1953 [Dec. 10, 1952], No. 24984/53. Addition to 705,063. Class 135. In a spring-loaded, non-return check valve as described in the parent Specification, the ring 5 and the valve member 13 are externally and internally coned respectively as at 16, 16a, Figs. 1 and 4, for engagement with each other to limit compression of the annular rubber valve seat 4. The guide sleeve 10 may.be locked in position by a lock-nut 23 having a coned face 22 co-operating with a complementary coned face on a hollow nut 12 or alternatively by peening over the hollow nut or securing the hollow nut by a circlip. For ease in manufacture, the body 1 may be bored uniformly throughout its length and the ring 5 secured at 1 and the ring 5 being finally machined as shown in Fig. 5.
