A rotary knife for slitting webs of paper, cardboard, cloth, and the like comprises an annular hub 1 for mounting on a shaft, and an annular resilient disc 3 which is pressed against a radial or conical surface 2 of the hub by means of a nut or a spring disc 4 secured in an annular groove 5.
