Abstract
792,183. Shuttering for casting concrete structures. KEMP. J. A. (Roberts Construction Co.. Ltd.). March 19, 1956, No. 8564/56. Class 20(2) Concrete structures such as cooling towers, dams, tanks &c. are cast in shuttering 3 carried by the set concrete and located by a datum unit 11 suspended from the structure and located vertically above the datum point 10 for the structure. The shuttering is located by a measuring cord 20 on a disc 19 on a graduated rod 15 in a tube 13 carried by the datum unit 11 which is located by a plumb bob 16. The shuttering comprises panels 4, 5, Fig. 2, the panel 4 being a third the height of the panel 5, these panels being clamped against an apron 7, Fig. 3, for closing gaps between the panels, by clamping plates 9 on uprights 6 mounted on bolts 8 in the set concrete. Further shuttering is mounted above this shuttering and secured to it in the desired position by struts 21-23 with the aid of the datum unit. Scaffold planks 29 are supported by the struts. Skips carrying concrete may be hauled up runners supported on uprights 6 or on stanchions supported by struts 21. 22.
