Abstract

791,835. Stands for pallets. VICTROLEC, Ltd. June 25, 1956 [March 24, 1955], No. 8537/55. Class 78 (4). A stand for supporting a drop-bottom pallet has flaps 18 which can be moved between the position of Fig. 1 in which they do not interfere with movement of the tines of a lift truck to engage a supported pallet and the position of Fig. 2 in which they co-operate with the dropped bottom of the pallet to form a delivery shoot. In the construction illustrated the flaps 18 are automatically turned about longitudinal axes 19 by engagement of the bottom of the pallet, as it hinges downwardly, with rollers 22 on arms 21 carried by the flaps. They are returned to the position of Fig. 1 when the rollers 22 are engaged by members 33 carried on arms 31, Fig. 1, turned about a shaft 23 by a treadle 30, 29 so that further members (not shown) on them close the bottom of the pallet. The arrangement is such that the bottom of the pallet is hinged upwardly sufficiently to clear the portions of the flaps 18 below their hinges 19 before the members 33 engage the rollers 22. The floor 40, Fig. 4, of a shoot receiving the contents of the pallet can be inclined in either of two directions to feed either of two hoppers 38, 39. A stop for the bottom of the pallet can be secured in two different positions to change the inclination of the dropped bottom. The stand is provided with a device similar to that described in Specification 744,324, to which the Specification refers, for releasing the bottom of the pallet.
