Abstract
790,522. Liquid meters. ARNAU, A. Nov. 22, 1955 [Nov. 22, 1954], No. 33440/55. Class 69(2). A liquid meter comprises pistons 1, 2 and related metering chambers 3, 4 offset by 120 degrees and mounted on a crank case forming a metering chamber 5 common to both pistons. The pistons co-operate with a common crank pin 35 to drive a crankshaft 13 connected to a register; being driven inwardly by liquid admitted to the chambers 3, 4 and outwardly by liquid admitted to the chamber 5. A distributing valve 22 is rotated by the crankshaft and controls admission of liquid from an inlet 33 to the chambers 3, 4, 5 and exhaust therefrom to an outlet 27. Each piston rod is guided in a bushing 21 and has a slotted member 11 engaging, with some play, a crank roller 12. The top dead centre positions of the pistons are limited by a fixed stop 17 which engages the slotted members 11, and the bottom dead centre positions are defined by stops 9 which engage the pistons. Stops 9 are mounted on a disc 8 which can be rotated to provide some adjustment of the piston strokes for correcting the quantity of liquid delivered by the meter.
